Simple, elegant furnishings combined with polite, attentive service and culinary delights based on reinterpretations of typical Venetian dishes which created the “Cipriani style” are the ingredients that have gone into the success of each and every one of Giuseppe Cipriani's restaurants. Still today, they make the Locanda Cipriani in Torcello a cut above the rest.

Room "Fogher"
|
Unlike the surrounding triumphant landscapes with the churches and the blooms in the garden, the Locanda Cipriani, designed as a rustic maison d’hôte, receives its guests in a simple, almost austere environment dominated by wooden ceilings, terracotta bricks covering the walls decorated in Venetian bas-reliefs, and old copper pots and pitchers hanging here and there.
The bar is located at the entrance to the Locanda. Here you will find a large "fogher" (a typical rustic fireplace) and a crackling wood fire in winter. |
The restaurant has two large rooms, both with large windows overlooking the garden. Diners can sit on the outdoor terrace in summer. The garden is open from the beginning of spring right through to autumn. The blooming daisies, tulips, roses and dahlias, the golden pomegranate trees and the fiery red of the Virginia creeper vines combine to provide beautiful surroundings for the restaurant. |

Every day, the “maitre pâtissier” creates a vast assortment of sweet snacks, bavarois, cream cakes, meringues, sorbets, biscuits and chocolates.
Sommelier Vladimiro Tomè carefully selects a range of Italian wines - with an emphasis on those from Friuli and Veneto regions - to provide the perfect accompaniment to the food. |

The kitchen, headed up by chef Cristian Angiolin, not only serves dishes invented by the Cipriani family and now considered classics - such as 'carpaccio' of raw meat and John Dory 'alla Carlina' - but also offers a whole range of dishes featuring fish, vegetables, home-made pasta and rice. |
